It was a cold weekend, and most of our guest was more interested in their beds than in the afternoon game drive. Although it was cold it was a beautiful sunny afternoon with a blue sky. Luckily there were 3 guest from Oom Piet (one of our chalets) that wanted to go full of excitement to see the smaller things in nature. While driving around one of the open planes, we encountered a Giraffe calf wondering around alone while you could see the rest of the tower (Herd) far down the road in the distance. As we approached the little calf, he started galloping toward the rest of the tower that were all busy browsing next to the road. After a nice giraffe sighting we continued our game drive, while driving uphill we encountered some klipspringers posing for a nice photo. All of the sudden we saw something moving a few meters from the car. A few seconds later a beautiful nyala bull came walking out of the bush with his 6 ewes following him. It was really exiting to encounter this antelope because they such elegant animals and always nice to encounter them. We had a nice sundowner after which we drove back to the lodge to warm up at the fire place in the restaurant and sit down for some nice dinner.
