  • Is there an office in the Netherlands that I can visit?

    You are welcome at our office in Gouda. Just call us (+31 (0)182-546527) for an appointment. The office is located on the Kattensingel 75-B in Gouda (above Randstad) click for directions. Note that if you come by car you don't park your care on a licensed parking place!
  • How do I order a brochure?

     Send us your details via info@kololo.co.za, we will send you a free brochure as soon as possible.

  • Is there any cell phone reception? And are there any phones in the rooms?

    A small area around the reception buidling has mobile reception. However there are phones in the rooms of most of the villas and chalets and there is wireless internet in the reception, restaurant and all villas.

  • Can I use Internet on Kololo?

    Upon request there is a computer available at the reception that allows you to surf the Internet.   There is wireless internet in the reception, the restaurant, the conference room, Kings & Queens, the Bush Villas, Leopard and Fish Eagle. A fee will be charged for this service if you want to use it.  Plaese keep in mind that you are in Africa and this service does not always work.

  • How can I pay at Kololo?

    All your extras (including drinks, excursions and telephone costs) are added to your account. This account must be paid at the end of your holiday. On Kololo you can either pay by cash (Not Euros and Dollars) and by credit card (when paying by credit card an administration fee of 3% will be charged). We only accept Visa and Mastercard on Kololo. In the nearby town of Vaalwater (30 km) is an ATM where you can withdraw from your European debit card.
  • Are hairdryers available in the houses?

    Yes, all chalets en villas have a hairdryer.

  • Is there a kettle in the houses?

     Ja, all chalets and villas have a kettle and a tray with koffie and tea.

  • Are there safes in the rooms to store valuables?

    Yes there are, you’re welcome to make use of them. If you like to make use of them please ask the reception for the key to the safe. We ask a R 200 deposit on the key which will be refunded to you the moment you check out.

  • Is there a TV and Radio in the accommodations?

    Our Villa Kings and Queens are he only accommodations that have a television, our other accommodations do not have televisions sets.

  • Is there a supermarket or shop on the park?

    No, there is no supermarkt or shop on Kololo Game Reserve. For a drink or a snack, you can visit the restaurant. There is a souvenir shop on the reserve.

  • What does, "game", game drive, 'game reserve', and 'big five' mean?

      All these words come from English and have their origins in the hunt. The English call wild animals  'game' so a 'game drive' jeep safari is Englishfor jeep safari. A 'game reserveliterally means , wild reserve. The term 'big five' has also been devised by the English hunters, since they are the five most dangerous animals to hunt because they caused many casualties among the hunters. The big five ar ehte lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo.
  • Where is Kololo Game Reserve situated?

    Kololo Game Reserve is situated in the beautiful Waterberg area in the South African Limpopo province. The closest town is the little town of Vaalwater on the R33 from Nylstroom to Lepalale, where you can find money machines, a well stocked supermarket, pharmacy, petrol station and small rstaurants. Part of beautiful Kololo Game Reserve, is integrated into Welgevonden Private Game Reserve which is a Big Five game reserve of 30.000 hectare. Kololo organises game drives to Welgevonden to see the Big Five for yourself.

  • I’m staying here for a longer period of time, are there any excursions of things to do in the surrounding?

    Yes, there are, go to the menu "actvitities". Here is an overview of the various possibilities. Ask the receptionist at the site for a list of tours and prices that we offer to our guests.

  • What is the difference between Self Catering and Full Board?

    If you made a reservation on a Full Board base, it means that you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner in our restaurant. Self catering means that you do not have breakfast, lunch and dinner included in the price. If you made a reservation for a self catering villa or chalet it means that you have your own kitchen available with cooking facilities and a refrigerator.

  • If I book my villa or chalet on self catering basis, do I have to bring my own braai?

    No, you do not have to bring your own braai, all of our villas and chalets have a fully equipped kitchen and braai-facilities in front of the chalets.

  • Am I allowed to use my own car for game viewing experiences on your property?

    We have a strict policy regard this matter and our guests are not allowed to use their own vehicle for game viewing experiences on our property. We offer, free of charge, game drives to our guests with our vehicles, if you like to make use of that, please inform us and we’ll arrange a game drive for you.

  • Are there hiking trails set out on your property?

    We have 5 hiking and biking trails. The team of Kololo is willing to inform you about the trails. Since we do not have any “dangerous” animals, you can freely walk around and enjoy the nature, the views and the game on our property. Despite this, they are wild animals.

  • Is there a swimming pool? And can I make use of it free of charge?

    Yes we have a beautiful heated swimming pool, with a beautiful attached deck to it, overlooking parts of Welgevonden Big 5 Game Reserve. There are several sun beds, available where you can enjoy a drink next to the swimming pool. The use of the pool is free of charge.

  • Do I have to bring my own mountain bikes?

    We have several mountain bikes here on the property and you are free to make use of them, so you do not have to bring your own. However, especially during the busy periods the use of the mountain bikes is on a first come, first serve basis and we cannot guarantee that you will be able to make use of them at the moment you find it convenient.
