Kololo Game Reserve lies adjacent to Welgevonden Private Game Reserve and covers an area of 36.000 ha. Part of Kololo’s 3000ha. A part of Kololo Game Reserve is incorporated in Welgevonden. In addition to the wildlife we have on Kololo here the Big 5 - elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard - can be spotted. Kololo has its own gate near the reception, which provides direct access to Welgevonden Game Reserve.Due to the close proximity these animals can also be spotted form our restaurant on Kololo Game Reserve!

Welgevonden Game Reserve is known for its wide range of different mammals. Welgevonden is home to more than 50 different species of mammals, including the Big Five. An interesting fact is that Welgevonden has one of the largest populations of white rhino on a private reserve anywhere in Africa. You can also find many rare and endangered species, like the brown hyena, wolf, nature, and the aardvark. The enormous size of the reserve together with the diversity of the habitat makes such a wide variety of wildlife and over 250 bird species, including rare blue cranes, possible.

Welgevonden Game Reserve offers the possibility of peace and privacy, while you explore the South African bush in an exclusive and intimate manner. Private vehicles are not allowed on the reserve and only a few people have access to it. This gives minimal impact on nature and you can experience in the South African feeling in peace and quiet.
